Welcome, its a pleasure to meet you. My name is Mariantonia.

I'm a painter and digital artist from Colombia working in all kinds of visual storytelling.

You can call me Mantu though,

Just think of Man, then "T" "U"..

My work focuses on nonage and sensual thematics by combining realism with surrealist elements.

My fascination with perception is the core of what I do— how singular moments can be extracted in endless differing ways by the same beholder. My pieces are an invitation to stay within that depicted moment. To study it from opposite emotional angles. To find beauty, unease, or sometimes even humor in its contradictions.

Can vulnerable moments be rendered playfully?

Could dark situations be processed in light?— not to lessen their weight, but to see how they live or might transform inside us in unexpected ways.

In December of 2024, I presented my performance piece at Art Basel’s Designated Assembly Points exhibition. It centered around the question “why do you pray?” and invited audience members to not just interpret, but interact physically and emotionally with the sculptural garment.

I’ve worked on art production and design for brands like Oakberry, Skims, Target, Malagon Group, Seasonal Inc., Sonen Solutions, etc. These were great projects. They taught me how to stay adaptable, collaborate, and problem-solve.

But enough with the LinkedIn talk.

I don’t believe in measuring worth by accomplishments. None of it should define me. (Comparison is a disease) The real work I have to show for is internal.

I just enjoy making things. I don’t really posses patience for a lot of things but I think I’ve always had patience for this. I’m extremely dramatic and need to divulge and dissect every occurrence thats ever happened to me to the fullest extent. Creating gives me the space to process all things.

Not even exaggerating.

I’m even dramatic about being dramatic..

Thank you to everyone who allowed me to feel faith in my skills. I owe everything I do to my family. Thank you to them. Thank you to my talented friends. Thank you to my school teachers who believed in me early on when I didn’t have much to show. My artistic discipline wouldn’t be what it is today without all your encouragement, companionship, and tough love on the harder days.

I am eternally great full for having built such a community around me. By far, that’s my biggest and most proudest achievement.. do I post that on my LinkedIn?

It’s an honor to have you here. Thank you for contributing to my practice. I appreciate you visiting my digital gallery.

Any and all messages are welcome through my commissions form or instagram dms.

I hope to have you back here soon.

Kindly,

P.S.
