My name is Mariantonia, but you can call me Mantu.
I was born in Miami, raised in Colombia my whole life. Both of my grandmothers are artists, so I like to think my talent is not only disciplinary, but genetically passed down as well.
My work focuses on nonage and sensual thematics by combining realism with surrealist elements.
My fascination with perception is the core of what I do— My pieces are invitations to stay within depicted moments. To study them from opposite emotional angles, to find beauty, unease, or even humor in its contradictions. (Can vulnerable moments be rendered playfully? Could dark situations be processed in light? not to lessen their weight, but to see how they live or might transform inside us in unexpected ways.)
